Description
The job role will entail wireless performance research focused primarily on understanding how various factors like antenna performance, modem performance, SAR, user interaction with device, channel conditions, co-ex and interference will impact wireless cellular performance and in turn user experience. You will use these findings to work with cross-functional teams to help drive antenna, wireless algorithms and system level design and architecture changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cellular performance testing and analysis.
Antenna performance characterization: TRP, TIS, Efficiency, SAR.
System performance characterization: Through-put testing, application specific wireless performance testing, optimizing wireless algorithms and user impact assessment.
Collaborating closely with product teams and other stakeholders to drive performance improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years industry experience in wireless cellular system level performance testing.
- Strong understanding of 5G NR and LTE protocols.
- Test automation experience. Python preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Electrical or Telecommunication Engineering with 3+ years industry experience in wireless systems.
- Experience working on physical layer wireless algorithms.
- Strong background in wireless communications.
- Experience with cellular field performance testing and network drops.
- Capturing and analyzing baseband logs to root cause performance issues.
- Cellular base station side experience is a bonus.
- GPS performance testing experience is a bonus.
