The Apple Maps Search team is looking for a software engineer to help build large-scale systems and business integrations, with a strong focus on scalability, performance, and user experience. You will join a hardworking and impactful engineering team that power places and geospatial data serving for Apple Maps and across Apple Ecosystems.
Description
As a member of this team you will be contributing to both platform and product. You will have opportunities to shape the new functionalities in Maps and to innovate on the platform/infrastructure to build elegant solutions. We partner with product, design, data and client teams to build features for users across the Apple ecosystem. We also develop the platform with Hadoop/Spark data build pipelines, Kafka streaming, high volume low latency serving stack, and a high performant distributed data layer.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software development in Java or C++
- Strong Experience in building high volume, low latency, scalable distributed systems.
- Strong Experience in software design and architecture.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to work with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.

- Domain knowledge in geo spatial data
- Experience in ML infrastructure
- Experience in building user facing products with ML techniques
