Firmware Sensing & Manager

Genuine passion for innovation and product development with experience from inception through delivery to customers. The Sensing Manager will be individually responsible for all things firmware and sensing related. Architect, design, develop, and maintain hardware/software systems for Apple products. The individual will also be responsible for the overall sensor integration in the product, ensuring high quality execution at launch with cross-functional teams in a highly dynamic environment.
- 7+ years of embedded firmware development in bare-metal or RTOS environments.
- 3+ years management experience building and mentoring strong fw/sw teams.
- 2-3+ years of sensing system hardware engineering experience such as optical, IMU, capacitive, environmental, light, motion, radar, acoustic, etc.
- Experience driving large or complex programs throughout full product and SW development lifecycle; including defining goals and ensuring milestone delivery in a high cross-functional capacity.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work across the organization and interact, influence and negotiate effectively at all levels of management.
- Clear understanding of customer experience and impact as well as respective use cases and expected performance.
- Obsessively passionate and inquisitive, and seek to solve everyday problems in innovative ways.
- Proven track record shipping FW in consumer electronics.
- Knowledgable of full SW stack including drivers, comms, middleware up to app layer / state machine.
- Strong, demonstrable coding skills in C/C++ in production environments.
- Ability to optimize software for resource constrained embedded systems (e.g. power, throughput, memory/compute).
- Availability to travel domestically and internationally for development and on-site manufacturing support
