Data Scientist - Camera Engineering
Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something.
Apple delivers the most popular cameras in the world. Each product release provides breakthroughs in photography with stunning camera features customers love. Our cameras deploy imaging complexity at the frontier of camera engineering methods. Data volumes are growing to meet this need across camera simulations, performance calibrations, measurement results and their correlations. Our need to incorporate perception and product decision-making into this data through analytics, pattern finding, prediction models, correlations, and rapid data visualizations is acute. Your work will build on our powerful data engineering platform and custom team tools by applying data science, meaningful insights, and related data innovations directly to our shipping camera products and teams.
Your work shows your enthusiasm for the simulation, design and the engineering phase of Apple camera products and fuel our data-driven decisions. Your work includes: applied data science on high volume product performance data with innovations in predictions, correlations, analytics, and data visualizations. A foundation of your work will be rapid and effective visual analysis of complex datasets with presentation quality results shown to cross functional engineering teams and leaders. Product blocking issues that arise will benefit from your speed and skill in steering to resolution through robust analytics.
Your work will continue to develop and deploy tools for ongoing analysis, discovering and detecting performance anomalies or artifacts in camera products. With your experience applying data into camera products, the data engineering platform and its analysis tools will define further required features and performance specifications providing direction for its development teams.
