UI Frameworks Software Engineer, Developer Relations
Are you passionate about mentoring, coding, writing documentation, and helping developers solve engineering challenges? Developer Relations is looking for you to help our developers create outstanding software for all of our platforms (iOS, macOS, visionOS, watchOS and tvOS).
You have extensive experience in developing and debugging apps using Swift and Objective-C, and experience using user interface technologies such as SwiftUI, UIKit, AppKit, and Core Animation. Expertise includes advanced debugging abilities and a deep understanding of modern operating system fundamentals.
Developer Relations is the main technical contact for Apple's worldwide community of software developers. We help ensure that the products they ship are designed and engineered to the high standards Apple sets for itself. This position is perfect for a software engineer who enjoys collaborating with others to solve app development challenges, and has a passion for learning and sharing knowledge.
We answer a wide range of code-level questions, create sample code and documentation, and work closely with engineering teams across Apple to continuously improve the Apple developer experience and APIs. If you’ve ever learned from sample code, opened a Technical Support Incident or asked a question on the Developer Forums, attended WWDC Labs, or participated in Tech Talks, you’ve seen our work.
- 3+ years experience developing native apps using Xcode, Swift, and Objective-C.
- Strong familiarity with Apple developer workflows and expectations.
- In-depth experience with UIKit, AppKit, or SwiftUI.
- Knowledge of the Human Interface Guidelines.
- Empathy for developers and a track record of supporting their success.
- Excellent debugging skills and capable interpreting crash logs including using LLDB and Sysdiagnose.
- Strong understanding of computer science & software engineering best practices.
- Willingness to dive in and take ownership of a technology or problem space.
- Active and engaged in the Apple and/or Swift developer community.
- Building and shipping apps on all of our platforms.
