Graphics Rendering and Compositing Engineer
Apple’s Compositing, Color, and Display Software organization provides the graphics software foundation for all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, Apple Watch, and CarPlay. As part of our UI compositing team, you will contribute to the core graphics compositing engine behind every Apple device that renders to a display. And your contributions won't be limited to Apple's devices, as you will also develop the rendering implementation behind CarPlay Ultra, Apple's next generation in-vehicle experience. Our team is looking for an extraordinary software engineer to work on the key graphics technologies across Apple's products and ecosystem. You will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the end-user experience for all Apple customers.
As an engineer on the UI compositing team, you will work within a highly skilled engineering team in the design and implementation of critical rendering technologies. Your responsibilities will include:
* Work directly with the GPU, Media, UI, Car Experience, and System Experience teams to implement features and debug issues across the Apple software ecosystem.
* Develop APIs, Framework and System Software, including Core Animation Framework for rendering, compositing, and animating visual elements.
* New hardware bringup and productization across multiple programs.
* In-depth performance analysis and optimization.
- 3+ years of software development experience
- BS or MS Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent C/C++ coding abilities
- A genuine passion for 2D and 3D graphics
- Experience with OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, or other GPU programming APIs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent software design, problem solving and debugging skills
- Experience with software performance analysis, optimizations and low-level systems programming
- You have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- You have an ability to handle complexity while achieving extraordinary quality
- You are upbeat, adaptable, and results-oriented with a positive attitude
- Experience with cross-platform and embedded software development
