The Field Design Engineering team is looking for a creative, motivated and highly technical Field Design Manager with strong technical background, experience in wireless systems, excellent cross-functional, leadership, project planning, data analysis, and problem-solving capabilities. You will be responsible in for ensuring the highest quality of our iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch hardware and software.

As a Field Design Manager in our team you will lead the HW/SW field test efforts throughout the development phase of new iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch products.
Responsibilities include:
- Organize org wide field test efforts and represent quality at a high level. This includes facilitating test plan reviews, cross-functional meetings and leading the customer feedback effort post launch
- Lead a team of technical engineers who covers evaluations of our latest HW/SW systems in the field from early prototype to final products on different wireless technologies
- Apply technical knowledge and expertise in wireless technologies to ensure full test coverage and drive issues to fix
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams throughout the HW/SW development phases
- Continuously improve tests and processes
- Build, lead, and support inclusive teams while attracting and retaining talent through effective performance management, coaching, guidance, and mentoring
- Develop and grow team on technical depth, cross functional communication, project leadership and issue driving capability
- BSc or MSc in Electronic / Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering
- 2+ years of experience leading/managing HW/SW system test engineering teams
- Ability to prioritize tasks, lead multiple sub functional teams and delegate effectively
- Set high quality standards and strive for continuous improvement through test coverage and process improvements
- Passionate about the customer experience and how we can improve it
- Excellent internal and cross-functional communication and influencing skills. Ability and focus on developing employees into future leaders
- Comfortable working in a continually changing fast paced environment and driving top issues to resolution
- Ready to deep dive into technical areas when needed but also discuss these topics to a non-technical audience
- Ability to summarize key points and tie them back to the customer experience.
- Technical knowledge of wireless technologies and standards (UMTS, LTE, 5G, NFC, GNSS, Satellite communications, Wifi) and ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Prior field product/test/validation and debug engineering experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good attention to detail and organized with a strong ability to adhere to timelines
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills
