The Beats Human Factors team is seeking a Human Factors Researcher to support the development of hardware and software experiences within the Beats portfolio. An ideal candidate is a storyteller fascinated by people. They are technical, collaborative and also rely on intuition and empathy for others. They approach research with curiosity and have the ability to influence product design with human led data. Readily moving between minute details and big ideas, they advocate for all people at every step in the process, engaging others in debate.

Some responsibilities include:
- Lead and proctor user-centered research projects at different stages of the product development process
- Collaborate with partner groups including design, engineering, packaging, and marketing
- Develop detailed user study protocols and timelines
- Create recruitment plans that incorporate accessibility, demographic, behavioral and anthropometric variables
- Drive the development of hardware and software prototypes for testing purposes
- Use statistical and qualitative user study data to affect meaningful change in the product development lifecycle
- Design impactful presentations that communicates quantitative, qualitative and visual information in an effective, humanistic way
- BS/BA (or higher) in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, Cognitive/ Experimental Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology or relevant field
- 3+ years proven experience in related fields or 7+ years experience in related fields in lieu of professional degrees
- Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and subsequent analysis
- Ability to use Keynote or similar to visualize data and information for presentation of materials
- Ability to travel domestically
- Able to implement studies independently, while also being curious and open to collaboration
- Brings aesthetic sensibility and design thinking to every aspect of the work
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. JMP, MATLAB, R, Python)
- Knowledge of ethical and legal guidelines for human research and data handling
- Treats others with empathy and respect
- Capable of presenting data and insights to internal partners, balancing simplicity and detail
