Mechanical Design Engineer-Beats Accessories

Our Beats Accessories team is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer(MDE) to lead a project team of Process, Test, DFX, and SQE Engineers to develop and launch high-quality accessories. You will act as the primary technical operations leader, ensuring a smooth transition from design to mass production(MP).
- Technical Liaison: Bridge communication between Apple Design and suppliers.
- NPI Input: Provide early and ongoing manufacturing feedback to Apple Design.
- Supplier Assessment: Evaluate and select manufacturing partners based on technical capabilities.
- Process Development: Define and optimize manufacturing and test processes.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality control measures.
- Risk Management: Identify, mitigate, and resolve technical risks.
- Issue Resolution: Lead troubleshooting of complex technical problems.
- Collaboration: Partner with Engineering and Operations teams.
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering or related major.
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in design / manufacturing process development.
- Proficient in both written and oral English, can use it as a working language.
- Expertise in accessory design and manufacturing with emphasis in at least two of these categories:
- - Assemble core technology (Gluing/Soldering/Welding and so on).
- - Soft-good assemble process
- - Over-molding, insert molding, injection molding processes.
- - Hands-on experience and technical knowledge in fixture design and various production processes such as CNC (milling, lathing), surface finishing (polishing, blasting, lapping, anodization), coating (ink, paint),
- - Mechanical or electrical testing including fixtures involved: Flex, Pull, Bending.
- Proven track record of managing a cross-functional team in order to achieve new product objectives inclusive of quality, yield and cost.
- Skilled in communicating sophisticated analytics, making data-driven insights accessible and actionable.
- Design or development experience along with operations experience.
- Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost & Delivery).
