The Apple Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research, design, development, testing, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. The team in Israel is looking for a Micro optics Design lead
Who will be at the center of a team responsible for end-to-end design, production, and testing of high-quality micro-optic components. The team features a collaborative and hands-on environment that fosters engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation in the interdisciplinary areas of optical design, testing, and device fabrication.
Key Qualifications
- Experience with the design of diffractive optical elements
- Knowledge about MEMS/semiconductor fabrication processes
- Experience with physical optics simulations (time domain, frequency domain)
- Proficiency in one or more scientific computer languages (e.g. Matlab, Mathematica, C/C++/C#, Python, etc.) for the design and modeling of optical systems
- Solid understanding of optics concepts
- Creative/analytical & critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficient verbal and written English language skills
- Design and optimization of nano-photonic structures - advantage
Description
Involved with all phases of execution of high performance micro-optic elements, from initial concept through prototype to mass-production
Simulating optical performance over fabrication tolerances
Working with vendors to develop and fine-tune fabrication processes
Utilizing optimization techniques to obtain required optical performance
Defining optical testing strategies (for prototypes and mass-production)
Interacting with a broad range of teams and disciplines to successfully integrate the components within Apple products
Education & Experience
M.Sc./PhD in Electro-Optics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering
