Sr. Software Architect, Apple Services Engineering

These are the people who power the Apple Music, App Store, Apple TV, Apple Fitness+, Apple Podcasts, and Apple Books and more. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple’s high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 37 languages to more than 175 countries. These engineers build secure, end-to-end solutions. They develop the custom software used to process all the creative work, the tools that providers use to deliver that media, all the server-side systems, and the APIs for many Apple services.

We are looking for a highly qualified, self-starting, and results-oriented Sr. Software Architect to join us in building an innovative content production pipeline to reshape how media is built, managed, and delivered. In an industry often bound by traditional workflows and legacy systems, we design ground breaking solutions that streamline the entire process—from concept to screen.

- At least 10 years of experience, at least 3 of which are in a lead or an architect role
- Experience leading cross-functional technical teams
- Excellent big-picture problem-solving skills
- Experience with technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, encouraging best practices
- Willingness to take ownership and set direction, especially in early-stage projects.
- Experience with programming languages (i.e. Java, .Net, Python, C++)
- Deep understanding of software engineering principles, cloud computing, and modern development frameworks
- BS/MS in Computer Science or Equivalent (5+ years of software development or production operations experience in a large-scale environment)
- Familiarity with workflow and task management systems is highly preferred
- Knowledge of media operational processes is desirable
- Experience with original content production is a plus
- Superb verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to independently learn and promote new technologies
- Collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- Familiarity with digital media formats and content management platforms is helpful
- Have a belief in automation and tooling as a critical part of the software lifecycle
