Acoustics Engineer

In Apple Acoustics we work with obsessive attention to detail, directly contributing to products that ship to millions of people around the world.
Our China Acoustics team plays key a role in implementing the extraordinary acoustic designs in Apple products by working closely with US team to review designs, DFMs and ramp production. This means continuous multi-functional collaboration with a wide variety of teams ranging from transducer design and audio tunings, to system hardware, software, mechanical engineering, quality and reliability. We are looking for Acoustic engineer who is self motivated and enjoys collaboration to help us advance audio performance in Apple’s next generation products. In this role, you will work together with the team on our iPad projects’ acoustic integration design and implementation.
Responsibilities include:
Acoustic hardware integration design review and assembly process review.
Validate acoustic design and lead the failure analysis corrective actions during development build.
Map out test strategy and set up test station for acoustic hardware.
Close interaction with US counterparts and cross-functional teams to support development builds at contract manufacturers.
Travel request (Approximately 10~30%).
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Acoustics/Mechanical vibration or a related field
- Understand the fundamentals of Acoustics (such as sound waves, propagation, sound fields,etc.).
- Familiar with the structure and theory of speakers/transducers and microphones, and simulation of acoustic equivalent circuits.
- Experienced acoustic test (can be Soundcheck, Klippel, AP or similar).
- Good communication skills with both English and Mandarin.
- Skilled with finite element modeling simulation (can be COMSOL, ANSYS, or similar).
- Experience with 3D solid modeling and meshing tools (UG, SolidWork, CAD or similar).
- Experienced professional with a history of working with contract manufacturers.
- Experienced in audio test script development (Matlab, Python etc.).
- Familiar with audio signal processing, digital signal processing.
- Good teamwork ability.
