Acoustic Manufacturing Design Engineer

In this highly visible role, you will lead the Operations Engineering efforts in the development of world-class acoustics modules, for some of the highest quality products in the world today. Your role will involve technical process development, manufacturing program management and on-site problem solving.
Process Development:
- Collaborate with suppliers and engineering teams in developing the manufacturing blueprint for engineering builds. i.e. process flows, equipment/fixture designs, implementation schedules and validation plans.
- Utilize DOEs, FMEA, and other industry standard tools to proactively identify and address risk and optimize process parameters.
- Drive robust processes through failure analysis of in-factory, FATP and field issues.
Project Management:
- Act as Operational technical lead in communicating project readiness and identifying risks.
- Lead multi-functional activities for overall operational readiness in all NPI phases leading into mass production.
- Drive project technical and operational issues with respect to material, process, fixtures, equipment etc. during the NPI phase to enable delivery of a mature product and manufacturing process into mass production.
Supplier Management:
- Lead suppliers by providing technical direction to establish and validate (using statistical tools) process ability to Apple standards in meeting innovative product designs as well as test and quality requirements.
- Establish inspection and manufacturing process control plans for early detection of issues and to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered.
- BS or equivalent experience in Acoustic, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering
- demonstrated ability in development or manufacturing of consumer electronic products/components
- Experience with manufacturing and testing of consumer industry
- Clear and concise communication skills: with the vendor, multi-functional teams, including in-region China and US based teams.
- Oversea background of education or working experience
- Proven project management experience.
- Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Will to travel domestically to module suppliers to support project development and production ramp (domestically 80%+, internationally as needed).
- Knowledge of massive data analysis, machine learning would be a plus.
