The successful candidate will become a member of the wider Finance team at Apple. With nearly 400 employees from a multitude of backgrounds, the Finance department supports all functions of Apple in EMEIA, including Sales Fulfilment, Logistics, Manufacturing and Operations, Apple Music, Apple Retail and Supply Chain. This role is part of our Trade Compliance team which supports Customs and Indirect Tax Compliance within Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. The role is based Gurugram Office and will focus on the continued development of Trade Optimisation across India.

Description

As Customs Compliance & Advisory you will engage at senior level with various Governmental Ministries and Agencies on Trade Compliance matters. - Partner with Apple’s network of teams to help identify possible trade barriers impacting Apple’s continued growth and investment in India - Participate & collaborate with various Trade Associations ensuring identification of possible challenges are proactively worked to resolution - Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Trade Compliance (Customs & GST) - Gain insight into Apple’s business model and being capable of applying all relevant Customs & GST legislation to the model - Demonstrate ability to identify impacts of Trade legislation on Apple’s business and expansion plans whilst being able to articulate possible amendments or clarifications to remove any trade barriers - Identify operational challenges and determine appropriate Ministry to engage in order to resolve such challenges - Act as primary liaison relating to Trade Compliance matters with Government Ministries / Agencies across

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors / Masters Degree from a reputed school
  • Experience in Customs Compliance along with 10+ years of experience in Customs / GST

  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and proven ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Motivated, flexible, a self-starter with ability to work individually and in teams.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of Customs & GST Legislation (manufacturing focus would be an advantage)
  • Ability to develop and foster multiple relationships, both internally and externally, at all levels
  • Previous experience in an MNC is an advantage
  • Successful candidate must be motivated, flexible, a self-starter who works well both individually and in teams.
