The Camera System Engineering team, in collaboration with multiple HW and SW teams is responsible for the systems-level analysis, simulation and optimization of new camera HW and SW to achieve best camera performance from the hardware level through to the user facing applications.
The team is seeking an exceptional systems engineer with broad skills to take a leading role in the x-functional activity. The ideal candidate would have the capabilities required to perform detailed system analysis and tradeoff evaluations while also driving and collaborating with cross functional teams.
Description
This role is highly collaborative and requires work with multiple HW and SW teams to analyze and optimize HW and SW performance.
Perform system level analysis and simulation of imaging systems using Matlab and/or Python
Define and analyze lab characterization tests
Analyze large data sets from factory and / or field to gain insight into HW / SW performance and user behavior
Create and maintain specification documents and their ties to user experience on one hand and component specification on the other
Collaborate and drive cross functional teams
Manage project deliverables and schedules to meet commitments to other development teams
Minimum Qualifications
- Detailed understanding of imaging systems & module designs (image sensors, optics, mechanics, auto-focus, optical image stabilization, assembly processes, etc).
- Familiarity with image signal processing pipelines.
- Working knowledge of imaging system simulations and evaluation of simulation results.
- Good understanding of image quality metrics and image quality evaluation.
- Expertise in system level modeling/simulation, data analysis, and image/signal processing in Matlab and/or Python.
- Experience defining performance specification in from system level, through sub-module and competent.

- MSc/PhD in a relevant field (EE, ME, CS, or Physics) or equivalent.
