The Services UI Localization team delivers high quality features to our customers worldwide, across Apple Media Products (App Store, Music, Video, TV, Sports, Books, Podcasts, Fitness+, News), iCloud, Maps, Enterprise and Education, and Identity Management Services. We seek an experienced UI QA Lab Operations Manager with a passion to ensure customers around the world can enjoy the same great experience with our products and services.
As the QA Lab Operations Manager you will be part of a Global Business & Vendor Operations team and work with QA resources locally. Description
Global Vendor Operations covers every project in our organization. You will have a leadership role in managing the day-to-day operations of an Apple localization quality assurance onsite lab ensuring strong vendor partnerships to optimize vendor quality and impact. You will work with Project Managers and QA Leads to ensure needed resources — testers, software, hardware — are available to complete projects.
You will drive vendors to provide the best-qualified testing resources for all supported languages and oversee ramp-up logistics to further ensure this. As part of the larger Global Vendor Operations team, you will collaborate with operations personnel from other lab facilities to support foundational policies and workflow practices and actively engage in adapting and evolving policies and practices as necessary to make the most effective as the QA needs of our organization change.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5 years of experience managing operations for a localization quality assurance facility with 20+ vendor resources
- Technical understanding of software development, localization process and QA cycles
- Technical proficiency with Apple hardware products (including iPhone, iPad, iOS, Mac OS X,Apple Media Products, iCloud) and Services particularly in troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Expertise anticipating potential logistical and workflow issues addressing them strategically, analytically and professionally
- Great communicator, both written and verbal, facilitating productive engagements among stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently as well as cross-functionally
- Business acumen specially as related to purchase requests and purchase order management
