Apple’s Marcom group in Japan is a team of creatives, brand managers, producers, and planners that help develop and execute Apple’s marketing strategy. Marcom manages business solutions through the package design, retail and channel experience, partner communications, motion graphics, films, events materials, direct marketing, interactive as well as Apple.com. In this UX Designer role we seek truly customer-centric design thinking and a demonstrable expertise in visualizing both digital and physical touchpoint solutions that support the omni-channel brand journey. We look for work that shows attention to detail in every aspect and a strong capacity for both logical and creative thinking. You are also comfortable dealing with ambiguous requirements that require creative investigation. You will do this in collaboration with the Creative Director of Experience, other Creative members, Channel and Interactive producers, Strategic Planners, and Brand Managers. Sound like you? Key Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience working on digital creative projects
  • Understand the impact of cultural relevancies and behavioral uniqueness in Japan
  • Significant experience in user experience design and have validated conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills and an excellent sense of aesthetics and functionality
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills both in English and Japanese. Ability to present and articulately express the rationale behind design decisions
  • Familiarity with current web and app development technologies, interface design, and social platforms.
  • Always being curious with cutting edge creatives around the world as well as unique business and cultural challenges that opens up opportunities in Japan.


Acquire in-depth knowledge of both Apple, its products, and all of Channel environments (direct, indirect, digital, and physical) and come up with creative concepts and execution to push the brand experience forward. At the same time, you’ll have a profound understanding of Japanese cultural contexts to match Apple’s creative works effectively to the market. Be hands on and iterate rapidly as ideas emerge. Produce clear UX documentation such as benchmarking, flow diagrams, wireframes, and prototypes that can help visualize the creative goal and solution for the team. Be a great collaborator with other functional teams who are responsible for apple.com, Apple retail, partner communications, and PR to achieve the highest quality experience design throughout the entire creative and production development.

  • Ability to travel to the US & Europe. Up to 8 weeks per year.
