We are seeking a top-flight senior executive to lead Apple Pay and Apple’s payments business across all of our Services platforms (iTunes/App Store, Apple Music, iCloud, etc) for Japan and Korea. The country lead will develop the overall strategy for Japan and Korea, making input into the direction of the business at all levels starting with the annual roadmap planning process. The role will work with existing and new partners to build and strengthen in-depth relationships in order to grow the partnerships, business and billings across all channels, including Apple’s services platform. Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience with 6+ years in payments, gift cards, wallets experience in a leadership or business development capacity at multinational companies.
  • Background in strategy and planning with a big picture vision of how technology will craft the future of the payments/financial services sector in Japan & Korea and an excellent record of having crafted that evolution so far.
  • A distinctive track record of success in managing and growing businesses, ideally having established relationships and grew them to the next level to build substantial impact.
  • Experience influencing existing external partners to drive the sustained long term success of business partnerships.
  • Excellent judgment, presence and mature personality; experience working with executives.
  • Outstanding communication skills - written and verbal, proficient in Japanese and English.
  • Experience managing a diverse team across multiple locations and markets.
  • Self-starter who works effectively in a fast paced environment and is comfortable managing ambiguity.
  • Experience working through internal approval processes and building internal support in cross-functional settings.
  • Adept with technology and a strategic problem solver - instinctively knows what is best for Apple and the customer.
  • Ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance.
  • Energetic and collaborative team player who feeds off of goal setting and achievement.


This role will lead a local team in Japan and Korea while work closely and effectively with Payment business leaders, Worldwide Developer Relations, product marketing, regional peers and engineering product teams to implement partnership strategies and close deals that impact core business metrics. You should have rich experiences in contract negotiation, project management, product and market development as well as demonstrated passion to conceptualize, build and deliver new, innovative customer experiences The ideal candidate should have well-informed on the newest Payment technologies and trends, as well as risk control and security. You will also have extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of Payments industry including wallet and card issuing ecosystem, banking, billing and operational value propositions, hardware and software requirements and regulatory policies. In addition, experience in building and sustaining strong, successful relationships across transit, financial services, traditional and internet consumer verticals is valued. You will also need to work with partners, both internal and external, to drive major pivotal initiatives and improve product features.
