Our team is seeking a self-motivating electrical engineer for the role of Silicon Validation Software Engineer. You will be responsible for ensuring that we deliver high quality silicon to customers. As part of this role, you will plan, write and execute tests to evaluate analog/mixed-signal silicon chips and IP. Silicon Validation team leads the validation system design, manufacture the hardware, laboratory debug and characterization with cross-functional teams (Silicon, Boards, Software, System, Manufacturing, and Suppliers). You will work with designers to optimize performance of silicon, enabling consistent and compelling use-cases in our products.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience designing electronics and/or embedded systems
- Strong programming skills in Python/C/C++
- Experienced with embedded software
- Experienced with hardware/software interaction
- You have familiarity with computer/system/SoC architecture
- Superior written, verbal, and visual communication skills
- Hands-on experience in prototyping, bring-up, debug and validation
- Hands-on experience and fluency with lab equipment, such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
- Business level of English communication is required
In this role, you will work closely with digital/analog designers and architects to understand various functional blocks and their use-cases. Perform lab characterization and validation of analog/mixed-signal silicon chips and IPs, as well as developing board-level API solutions for characterization and emulation platforms. Responsibilities include: designing interdependent software system; maintain the board and system level API; integrate existing test software between various test environment; automating on-chip measurements; analyzing and reporting results; coordinating cross-functional test / debug activities. - Prepare silicon validation and characterization test plans in consultation with the design team. - Python/C/C++ coding for board/system level API, system level test, and integrated on-chip analog measurement. - Test, debug, and characterize analog/mixed-signal silicon chips and IPs through a combination of FPGA, JTAG, and analog interfaces. - Develop scripts to automate tests, extract results, and generate reports using database and analysis tools. Compare measured performance against design specifications. - Interface with the silicon design team, module system HW / SW teams, Test Engineering, and Product Engineering.
Education & Experience
BS / MS / Ph.D in EE or CS is required.
