Description

As Cell Development Engineer you will : - Develop and qualify advanced lithium ion cell for portable power consumer applications. - Work with internal cross-functional teams to develop design details, process procedures and production equipment to support advance development activities. - Work with external vendor base to qualify new designs, new processes / equipment and procedures from prototype stage to production ramp. - Provide guidance to address design, performance and production process issues. - Evaluate readiness for next generation battery solutions including; materials, applicable processes, process equipment and novel cell design approaches to ensure world-class performance and reliability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Three to five years of electrode design development as well as, performance / safety characterization experience with emphasis on lithium ion.
  • Minimum five years of direct battery design, process and process equipment development as well as, performance / safety characterization experience with emphasis on lithium ion or lithium polymer batteries.
  • Direct experience in product, process and equipment development from initial prototype to MP stage is preferred.

  • Experience with applying quality tools including statistical analysis of process and/or performance results, determination of process capabilities, execution of design of experiments and development of SOPs and related work instructions.
  • Familiarity with applicable test equipment and test procedures applicable to rechargeable lithium battery products.
  • Familiarity with current state of the art production processes applicable to lithium rechargeable cells.
  • Experience in working with external vendors and contractors to develop and qualify battery cell designs and advanced battery technologies.
  • Experience with applying quality tools and their application to production of lithium batteries including statistical analysis of performance results, process capabilities, and design of experiments.
  • Familiarity with applicable patent field and patent application process.
