Description
In this highly hands-on role, you will enjoy the key decision-making combined with the on-site problem solving that comes with the responsibility for the quality of some of the best products in the world today. You will look after the development, the quality tools and systems for state of art designs in a cosmetically fast paced environment. Specific areas of responsibility include the following:
QUALITY PLANNING
- Apply a deep understanding of quality control and manufacturing concepts to handle the development of specific Product Quality Plans (PQP) significant for program and commodity;
- Evaluate and communicate the yield of new and existing processes;
- Drive corrective actions transversally with team members;
- Develop and implement innovative quality inspection tools;
- Identify and direct studies to implement improvements in measuring method where appropriate;
- Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure Apple quality standards are applied;
- Work with internal and external groups to ensure that accurate definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product.
SUPPLIER QUALITY MANAGEMENT
- Assess supplier production control and quality programs, identify shortfalls to expectation, and directly secure agreement for corrective actions to take;
- Review PQP with supplier and other Apple functional groups to optimize supplier quality programs;
- Evaluates supplier readiness and adequacy to PQP at all development and qualification stages;
- Handle each supplier's performance through measurement of production line statistics, company inspections, and audits. Prepare summary of performance and communicate to appropriate management.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master or Bachelor degree is required. Data and Engineering related or MBA will be a plus.
- Experienced in the creation of quality plans, building test and measures, validating them, and make corrections;
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required.
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Understand clearly how to apply problem solving within experiments design, root cause analysis and statistical process control;
- Experienced a large number of cosmetic and dimensional issues in components and/or finished products in consumer electronic industry;
- Experience in die castings, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or quality manufacturing engineering in big numbers; experience in mechanical enclosures is a plus;
- Knowledge on data mapping and analysis with statistical tools;
- Experience in developing & application of quality solutions with machine learning algorithms;
- Knowledge on quality and reliability, experience with GD&T and Failure Analysis;
- Experience in coordinating with suppliers and contract manufacturers;
- Good analytical skills, and capacity to reason on articulated issues.
