Key Qualifications

  • We would like you to have shown expertise and first-hand experience in architectures and concepts for Digital Predistortion. Key knowledge areas:
  • Extensive DPD algorithm development based on RF characterization of power amplifier subsystems.
  • Proven understanding of PA technologies and architectures, non-linear characteristics of PA devices, as well as passive and active loading of single PAs and multiple PAs.
  • Deep understanding of cellular signals characteristics and TX performance metrics.
  • As a plus hands-on experience in measurement of mm-wave transceivers in conducted and over-the-air configurations.
  • Knowledge of 3GPP Standards (LTE, 5G NR FR1/FR2) and cellular procedures including RF aspects and implication on transmit system specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Description

This role will be part of an industrial-leading RF Transmitter System Engineering team. They will work closely with other architecture- and system engineering teams, RF design teams, FW/SW teams and suppliers to assess, define and drive Digital Predistortion implementations with focus on innovative performance under real-life conditions and clear differentiation from other solutions. • Direct responsibility for the development and verification of Digital Predistortion algorithms. • Detailed characterization of the nonlinear behavior of PA-Antenna arrays in an over-the-air configuration. • Modelling of PA characteristics for subsequent system simulation. • DPD base function selection based on measured PA characteristics. • Development and verification of DPD actuator and estimator algorithms by mm-wave characterization under realistic conditions. • Identify and analyze critical requirements and provide deep dive assessments with respect to critical metric impact, timeline, and risks. • Provide specifications as input for the HW and SW development.

Education & Experience

BSEE or MSEE is required. We would prefer a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
