We are looking for a Display Mechanical Engineer to lead the development and qualification activities to design and develop innovative Flat Panel Displays used in Apple products.
Key Qualifications
- - Demonstrated ability to perform mechanical design & validation is a must.
- - Experiences of CAD modeling, engineering drawing release, GD&T. Knowledge of FEA and other CAE tools preferred.
- - Experiences in developing and manufacturing high volume display products preferred.
- - Experience in working directly with mainstream LCD or OLED vendors is preferred.
- - Excellent project managements, written and verbal communication skills and people skills are required.
Description
The individual will manage all engineering activities necessary to deliver displays into final products from initial design concept. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall display module development acting as Direct Responsible Individual(DRI). You will work at display vendor site and final assembly/test site serving as a focal point among Cupertino module DRI, system mechanical and module team, supply management team and display vendors.
- Investigate innovative mechanical package designs and technologies and generate new approaches to further enhance Apple portable display performances and enable strong and compact system designs.
- Define and review the overall module mechanical architecture & performance requirements.
- Monitor build issues and heads up at display module / FATP site, solve the issue in timely manner.
- Work closely with Reliability team to achieve designed performance, analyze failures and provide accurate feedback for design optimization.
- Achieve system performance goals through mechanical design optimization, using 3D CAD (UG NX preferred), prototyping, and new material and manufacturing processes.
- Work with system engineering team to understand system and validate display modules at system level.
- Work with project teams and supply base throughout product development phase and support the initial product ramp.
- Work with multi-functional team to do failure analysis on defects / front of screen issues.
