Beats Engineering is looking for a highly-motivated engineer to drive our multi-functional testing efforts in improving system across all of Beatsʼ family of products. Quality is crucial to the Beats headphones/speaker product experience; in this key role you'll have responsibilities throughout the System, from undertaking investigations into architectural improvements, to driving general analysis, and debugging and resolving individual issues.
Key Qualifications
- Experience with hardware and/or software development lifecycle
- Experience with defect tracking systems
- Understanding of Audio fundamentals, Bluetooth, and Embedded Audio systems.
- Skilled in scripting and designing automated test cases using Python and/or other relevant programming languages
- Experience with Audio Analyzers and Bluetooth Analyzers.
- Familiarity with real-time audio handling (sample rates, buffering, PCM, drivers, etc.)
- Strong ear for sound anomalies and the validation of sound quality
- Works very well independently, focused and responsible
- Travel 2-3 weeks/quarter in different labs in CM factories
Description
- Using critical listening skills and audio system knowledge to identify critical issues
- Understanding test methods to collect and analyze audio quality
- Understanding Bluetooth Technologies
- Testing key features of one or more products and/or software updates
- Developing test tools, automation and/or other solutions to improve overall product quality
- Verify the proper functioning and quality of those features prior to shipping them
- Working closely with other team members & test teams to create and implement tests cases
- Work closely with development teams, to identify and understand key features and their underlying functionality
- Isolate and report defects, and verify fixes through regression testing and other test methodologies
Education & Experience
BS in CS/CE or equivalent (MS preferred)
