Key Qualifications

  • Proficient in Swift and/or Objective-C and common Apple frameworks and technologies.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience shipping high quality software with adaptable, interactive UI.
  • Experience crafting powerful and concise APIs and broad knowledge of layered software architecture.
  • Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented programming, and design with keen eye to best practices and design patterns.
  • Experience with performance – profiling, identifying, and implementing optimization strategies.
  • Deep understanding of memory management, multi-threaded programming, and synchronization.
  • Effective communicator, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with all levels of engineers and people in other fields.
  • Motivated self-starter and phenomenal teammate who thrives working in a dynamic environment and learning new technologies.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking, with strong problem solving and collaboration skills to partner with multi-functional groups across the company.

Description

In this role, you will design and implement new software experiences in close partnership with SW, HW and other teams across Apple such as Design, Product Marketing, Privacy, Security, Machine Learning, HomePod and AppleTV. This job will drive new features for HomeKit Camera experiences with responsibilities including: Collaborating across different lines of business Design, architect and implement new apps, frameworks and daemons, in Swift/Objective-C. Understand product requirements, engage with team members and customers to define solutions, and estimate the scope of work required. Implement features that involve communication with other related hardware components and various cloud back-ends. Deliver solutions that can keep up with a constantly evolving product. Write comprehensive unit tests, build test and verification pipelines to ensure reliability and resiliency, and work closely with software integration teams for the software you deliver. Participate in architecture and code reviews, and hiring interviews.

Education & Experience

BS in Computer Science, related fields, or relevant professional experience.

Additional Requirements

  • While the following skills aren’t required, knowledge of one or more of these areas would be valuable:
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and/or Computer Vision domains.
  • Experience working with AVFoundation.
  • Experience with memory performance debugging tools and strategies.
  • Experience working with embedded systems and knowledge of hardware architecture.
