AS THE SALES CONTROLLER FOR BRAZIL, YOU WILL: Be responsible for financial analysis, planning, reporting, forecasting and control activities and the development of recommendations to achieve company financial objectives for the Apple Brazil subsidiary. Take a leadership role in financial issues, business proposals, channel program execution, policies and practices affecting the organization. Perform analysis of exposure and return for all business decisions. Make recommendations for optimizing financial impact. Monitor accounting policies, processes and systems to ensure compliance with Apple Inc. policies. Participate in the setting of financial targets, accruals and long range plans aligned with the organization's strategic plans. Participate in the development of budgets, detailed business plans, and forecasts with management. Be responsible for managing operating expense budgets and other costs of sales for Apple Brazil. Understand and provide support for SDM to drive local manufacturing decisions and ensure 100% of the local supply is consumed. Provide support and deep assessments to drive complex pricing decisions taking into consideration the Brazilian tax system. Build business partnership with Legal to create business Term Sheets for local deals and discuss organizational changes impacting Brazil’s Operating Expenses.

  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of market dynamics with Carriers and Resellers as well as new opportunities with Banks, E-commerce and Leasing companies for Enterprise.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet tight deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Fully bilingual (English and Portuguese - Spanish is a plus)
  • At least 10 years of related experience with Sales Ops, Sales Finance and Sales experience)


You are jointly responsible for reporting Financial Results in partnership with the Apple Brazil Global Business Solutions team to ensure local books accurately reflects the company financial results during the period end process, as well as analysis and submission of the quarterly results and QBR management reports. Coordinate the close process. Ensuring all provisions (accruals) are managed correctly. Management of Profit and Loss (detailed URM by partner) compilation process, Analyzing and presenting with YoY, QoQ and forecast comparatives. Explanations of any material differences within Revenue / Margin lines need to be understood and documented. All WW Sales Finance reporting submitted timely and accurately. Resolve any Internal/External Audit requests, any required follow-up on time. Review and assessment of Balance Sheet with regards to accruals and provisions. Work closely with the Shared Service center and Outsource Partners on new and enhanced processes. EOL (End of Life) Management Apple continually revolutionizes its product ranges, quite often in a very secretive manner. The Controller needs manage this by: - Model financial impact on future product pricing decisions, ensuring accurate reflection in forecast - Calculation and distribution of funding required facilitate clearance of older generation product lines. - Monitor and challenge clearance activity, balancing inventory management with margin protection. - Plan and execute smooth transitions during NPI for legacy products taking into consideration channel inventories, Apple’s own inventory, pricing changes and price protection strategy to be executed in the channel. Promotion Support From time to time Apple will run corporate promotions (ie buy a Mac and get a rebate). The Brazil Controller provides full support by: - Assessing future promotions, reviewing payback analysis and ensuring accurate forecast - Ensures promotion fulfillment house & internal promotion team works with financial integrity (carrying out audits, reviews, etc.) - Managing end to end flawless execution of deals including DGP entries (including complex consumer offer for Carriers), approvals to Term Sheets and tracking of every deal in the market. - Ensure accurate period end bookings and Balance sheet statements. Pricing & Opex Management Currency volatility and government driven tax changes have constant impact on pricing models & product margins. You will produce business case analysis to support any price adjustments needed outside of normal product cycles. Also, the Controller will monitor regional operating expenses for each line of business against targets on a monthly basis. Business Management and Support As part of the ALAC team, provide support with accurate, timely information, to be used both for business management and communications to the executive team. KEY RELATIONSHIPS: ALAC Executive Management, Brazil Country Manager and entire sales team, Ops Team Brazil, ALAC Credit Management, Tax Team, WW Pricing Team, External auditors / Outsource Partners, Shared Service Center - Austin, WWSF Team - Cupertino, AMR SDM, AMR Reseller Ops.

Education & Experience

MBA or CPA required.
