Here on the Apple Store Online team, we are responsible for Apple’s largest store. Our main goal is to deliver a magical, personal digital experience where customers can shop, buy and learn everything Apple, wherever they are. Join Apple’s ASO Operations team as a Systems Workflow Architect, where you will drive transformative changes to the infrastructure powering the Apple Online Store. You will ensure seamless integration, high performance, and scalability in digital content production, management, and distribution workflows. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem solver, detail-oriented, and adept at managing complexity while balancing competing priorities. In a fast-paced environment, you'll navigate ambiguity, champion innovative, data-driven solutions, and contribute to the ongoing evolution of e-commerce excellence.
In this role, you will tap into your expertise in process and systems design to help architect a scalable e-commerce platform, championing innovative technologies that challenge conventional approaches. Collaborating with Product Management and Engineering teams, you’ll define, develop, and implement new systemic capabilities and workflows for agile, efficient digital content production, management, and distribution. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Model and simulate the digital content supply chain to identify bottlenecks, using root cause analysis and systems thinking to implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Define system requirements and lead rapid prototyping, testing, and validation of technological solutions, applying independent judgment to select methods and evaluation criteria.
- Extract actionable insights from complex data sets to drive design decisions and optimize workflows using data-driven approaches.
- Communicate technical strategies and architectures to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or a technical degree, or 6+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a proven track record of effectively briefing executives and cross-functional stakeholders, articulating technically complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Technical expertise in digital content systems, including Content Management Systems (CMS), Digital Asset Management (DAM), Product Information Management (PIM), and Syndication Management Systems (SMS).
- Experience using advanced analytics tools and libraries, including Python, pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib, to analyze structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data and generate actionable insights for business decisions.
- MS (in relevant fields like Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, etc.) or MBA is desired.
- Expert in business process modeling and documentation tools, including SIPOC BPMN, and Value Stream Mapping.
- Experience applying problem solving frameworks (DMAIC, kaizen, etc.) and process improvement methodologies (six sigma, lean, TQM, etc.) to drive operational excellence.
- Experience with emerging technologies like AI and Machine Learning to automate and optimize digital content production and distribution workflows, enhancing agility, efficiency, scalability, and quality.
- Experience with SDLC methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, RAD) to facilitate effective collaboration with technical business partners.
