We’re looking for a Software Manager with experience leading a full stack (API, UI, DevOps, Infrastructure) software team. You will be responsible for executing the technical vision for a critical manufacturing application at Apple while leading the Software teams responsible for building it. Our team is responsible for building an application that enables Apple to manufacture every product. You should be good at anticipating, but not over engineering solutions. You are able articulate clear and simple solutions for complex problems.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • 2+ years managing a software team focused on distributed systems
  • Experience building and managing technical software teams
  • Experience leading effective development processes to deliver high quality software
  • Experience with OLTP, OLAP, and ETL systems is a plus
  • Experience scaling distributed systems with lots of data
  • Knowledge of Golang, Linux, Docker, PostgreSQL, and React JS is a plus
  • Manufacturing experience or exposure is a plus, but not required

Description

Responsibilities of this role include: * Define long term vision and engineering roadmap with the head of organization * Participate in technical and design discussions with leads of the team * Plan and scope features alongside Product Designer, Developers and other stakeholders * Own development process with dev tech lead (sprints, standups, retros, planning etc..) * Collaborate with stakeholders in Manufacturing, Product Design (hardware), Ops, and the Supply Chain to provide the right solutions for our teams. About Us The applications we build are used daily by the people at Apple that design our products along with those that figure out how to make them at scale. This includes; Manufacturing Design Engineers, Product Designers, Mechanical Engineers, Quality Engineers, Supply Chain Managers, along with our Suppliers. We work closely with them to design and architect the best solutions for the challenges faced when making the highest quality hardware products. The Manufacturing Design team enables the mass production of Apple's entire product line from iPhones, iPads and MacBooks to the Mac Pro, AppleTV and Apple Watch. Part of the magic that makes all of this possible is a robust set of applications and systems designed and developed by Apple that support the production of a product from prototype to announcement and beyond.

Education & Experience

BA/BS above degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree preferred
