Key Qualifications

  • Proven experience in writing well-tested clean code in JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Design and build production backend RESTful APIs both in NodeJS and in Java
  • Knowledge and experience working with production relational databases (PostgreSQL)
  • Knowledge and experience working with production search engines (Solr)
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Good work dynamics with UI teams in gathering requirements to implement new API endpoints


The AMP Customer Engagement engineering team are responsible for building the platform and services that enable communication with millions of subscribers every day, across services such as Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+, Apple Music, Apple TV+ and more. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the team’s tooling backend services that will be used to power the internal-facing engagement management application. As a member of the team, you will be encouraged to propose, design and implement solutions, while taking ownership of critical backend components of the application. You will be working closely with designers and frontend engineers to provide dynamic and flexible backend functionality. You will be writing well-tested clean code using existing design patterns and utilizing standard service frameworks and libraries where possible. You will bring improvements to how we do things and drive their acceptance. Experience and knowledge regarding the following are advantageous for successful candidates: - Node, ExpressJS, KOA, GraphQL or other NodeJS-based API frameworks - Spring, DropWizard or other Java-based API frameworks - Mocha, Jasmine or other JS-based test frameworks - Swagger / Open API / JSON Schema or other API definition tools - PostgreSQL, Cassandra, Redis, Solr or other NoSQL databases - Kubernetes or other cloud-based CI/CD environments
