We are seeking a. hands-on senior data engineer with strong background in data privacy to join the App Store Analytics engineering team focused on Advertising solutions to help drive app discoverability. In this role, you will be part of analytics team working with product, privacy, cross functional engineering teams to drive creation of innovative privacy preserving solutions that deliver on Apple’s privacy vision.

Key Qualifications

  • 4+ years of programming experience in Scala (preferred) or Java
  • Hands-on experience building distributed data processing applications using Apache Spark or Apache Flink,
  • Proven skills in designing scaleable, highly available distributed systems using Kafka, Iceberg, Kubernetes, Airflow & Cassandra or similar technologies
  • Understanding of functional programming ideas and principles.
  • Self-directed, self-motivated and ability to create architecture and design documents
  • Good understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals including algorithms and data structures.
  • Ability to capture cross-functional requirements and translate them into practical engineering tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a fast learner and collaborative problem solver

Description

In this role, you will be part of a team that will collaboratively ideate to solve novel problems in area of ads measurement. You will be an individual contributor to implement the designs to a scalable, high quality observable set of pipelines and services. You will be accountable for the quality, scalability and performance of the systems we build. You will lean into and pick up new technologies as driven by needs of the project. You will partner with program teams to plan and execute sprint goals. You will be part of a collaborative, supportive team that will embrace challenges and value humility, honesty and commitment to each others growth.

Education & Experience

Bachelors/Masters Computer Science, Math, Statistics or equivalent work experience.
