It will be responsible for electrical testing, mechanical testing, and electro-chemical characterization of Lithium batteries within the test labs. The position will also work closely with other teams (i.e. R&D, Applications, and Qualification) to develop and implement any electrical tests and test procedures to characterize battery performance. The position will be responsible for all facets of the battery testing including development and scheduling of electrical tests, data collection and procedure documentation, interpretation and communication of test results, and maintenance and calibration of all test equipment and meters.

Key Qualifications

  • - 2 - 5 years of electrical engineering experience
  • - Experience with testing various battery technologies
  • - Understanding of test requirements and ability to convert into test protocols
  • - Capable of making test choices based on electrochemistry nuances
  • - Ability to interpret battery test results and communicate to team
  • - Ability to operate and tackle all testing equipment and tools
  • - Data management and statistical analysis experience helpful
  • - Good communications skills
  • - Able to function and interact in a multilevel team environment
  • - Database experience desired

Description

- Develop and implement test protocols to measure and characterize cell properties and electro-chemical performance - Develop and implement process flows for the effective implementation of the protocols - Develop, implement, and document validation methods to ensure the integrity of the lab data - Coordinate characterization data collection - Coordinate the acquisition or in-house design and manufacture of small tools for lab use - Resolve need for and schedule/perform routine maintenance of test equipment and meters - Collect and analyze test data, write-up reports as necessary - Maintain standard operating procedure database - Collaborate with team on necessary deviations in test, detail any procedure changes - Communicate results to engineering team - Refine/Update test procedures and documents - Train and mentor technicians in the operation and upkeep of test equipment and tools

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Chemical Engineering subject area
