Mechanical Quality Engineer
Shanghai, Shanghai, China
Operations and Supply Chain
Roles & Responsibility • Review Engineering Drawing and provide feedback/proposal to PD. • Develop metrology (MTD) for parts measurement. • Design gauges and measurement fixtures, and drive their qualifications. • Conduct Measurement System Analysis to manage the measurement errors. • Drive FAI/Cpk data collection, verify the data integrity and work with PD on disposition. • Review quality of cosmetic and work with PD on shipping standard during Engineering build stages. • Ensure parts shipped per PD requirement on both dimensional and cosmetic for each engi- neering build. • Responsible for quality issues happen at FATP and drive issue close with FACA provided. • Conduct Yield Gap Analysis and drive review with cross functional teams(SBE, PD, GSM & PD Tooling) on development of their corrective actions via process improvements or changes, design or tolerance changes, or screening parts, and propose binning plan for SRB builds (Spec Relief Build) if necessary • Collect representative production level samples and lead ID review for cosmetic criteria set- up, provide yield assumption analysis and work on improvements. • Develop reliability test method on part level and ensure the test objectives are met • Establish and implement Q-Plan/OQC, and review SIP to ensure proper inspection plan in place. • Drive FQC/SI and FATP correlations on both dimensional and cosmetic during development stages • Drive data collection (FAI/Cpk) for additional lines/fixtures/tooling/machines, and identify and assure necessary corrective actions are taken, authorise the start-up of production with FAI/ Cpk approval • Drive vendor to meet ramp targets through yield improvement and removing bottom neck caused by inspections. • Develop stretch yield target with vendor for sustaining projects, and identify improvement op- portunities to bridge the gap. • Provide technical direction and guidance to vendor quality engineer, develops supplier capa- bility (including necessary training), establishes proper reporting of in-process and final in- spection and test results to Apple. • Interfaces with other Apple functional groups as resources to optimise suppliers quality pro- grams.
