Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Design / Manufacturing Process Development
  • You are expertise in high-volume manufacturing with emphasis in at least one of these categories:
  • - Automated Assembly: precision pick and place, fixturing, and station transfer. knowledge with automated optical inspection a requirement.
  • - Coil winding: single- or multi-spindle winding of copper wire coils with or without inner bobbin. Knowledgeable on parameters that influence inductance, ACR, and DCR
  • - Joining processes: Laser welding, laser soldering, hot bar soldering, glueing, adhesive films
  • - Connector/Acoustics/Thermals/Haptics/manufacturing
  • Proficiency in the following areas :
  • - 5S, Lean manufacturing
  • - Design for manufacturability, FMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis
  • - Statistical analysis, SPC, DOE, Six Sigma certification highly desirable
  • - GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerances),
  • - Metrology techniques
  • - Machining processes, fixture design
  • - Operator management, SOP development, training, and qualification
  • Excellent project management skills, working in a matrix organization
  • - Demonstrable track record of leading a multi-functional team in order to achieve new product objectives inclusive of quality, yield, and cost
  • - Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost, & Delivery)
  • Experience working with international OEM partners
  • You are comfortable with frequent travel
  • Self starter with innovation, integrity and attention to details


Specific areas of responsibility include the following: Quality Planning Apply solid understanding of quality control and manufacturing concepts to oversee the development of specific Process Management Plans (PMP) appropriate to program. Evaluate and communicate the yield of new and existing programs. Develop and implement cutting edge quality inspection tools and test equipment. Identify and direct studies to implement improvements in measuring method where appropriate. Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure adherence to Apple quality standards. Interface with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. Supplier Quality Management Drive corrective actions cross-functionally with internal and external team members. Assess supplier production control and quality programs, identify shortfalls to expectation, and directly secure agreement to correct. Review PMP with supplier and other Apple functional groups to optimize supplier quality programs. Evaluates supplier readiness and adherence to PMP at all development and qualification stages. Monitor each supplier's performance through measurement of production line statistics, company inspections, and audits. Prepare summary of performance and communicate to appropriate management. Lead suppliers by providing technical and quality requirements to establish and validate (utilizing statistical tools) process capability, incoming, in-process and outgoing quality control to Apple standards in meeting innovative product designs as well as test and quality requirements. Utilize DOE’s, FMEA, CTQs, SPC, and other analytical tools to proactively identify and address product and process risks and mitigate or improve with suppliers

Education & Experience

- BS in EE or ME, Masters or higher preferred
