Apple China is looking for a reciprocal, highly organized professional for the position of EHS Safety Engineer to assist EHS team in implementing EHS programs for our operations.

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years in relevant EHS experience in a multinational company, preference in a US company.
  • Bachelor degree and above, master degree of preference in chemical, electrical or mechanical.
  • CSP or CIH preferred.
  • Good knowledge of electrical safety, Mechanical, Chemical and hazardous waste management.
  • Shown project/customer site service execution and leadership skills.
  • Strong teammate with confirmed communication and social skills.
  • Strong self-initiative and positive attitude while taking care of challenges.
  • Being fluent in English & Mandarin Chinese.

Description

This role is primarily created for Apple R&D in China region, it covers areas in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen etc. This job will be based in Shanghai. With the reference to Apple corporate and local/international regulation requirements, develop and drive strong EHS management programs to prevent EHS related non-compliances and support business teams to maintain a safe, consistent and environment friendly work place. Lead in hazard identification and develop competency training and qualification programs for R&D staff in hazardous work positions. Lead contractor management, site inspection, EHS incident reporting, investigation, analysis, and action tracking for the responsible area. Act as gatekeeper to prepare and assess the job hazards analysis, tools/ equipment safety, hazardous materials, PPE and trainings for R&D areas and projects, and conduct reviews on regular basis to mitigate and monitor the identified gaps. Promote a strong EHS culture through dedication to EHS excellence, internal communications and personal behavior, and help set up local EHS policy, objective and target under the global EHS guides. Track and understand those emerging local and international EHS regulations, identify the potential impact to business. Work with business partners to identify and implement necessary actions to ensure business operation activities are in compliance. Behave as EHS ambassador and ensure an effective communication with customers, including through regular site/labs visits and communication with key partners. Other EHS tasks may be assigned to this position to support the mission of whole EHS organization in the region.
