Design, develop, maintain test infrastructure (HW/FW/SW) for High and Low speed IO interfaces. Responsibilities will include working closely with Apple system EE, architecture, firmware, operations, test and logistics teams. Communicate with cross functional stake-holders to gather requirements for HW/Instrumentation design. Frequent interactions with CM/Vendors and developing SOPs, debug instructions, documentation is part of R&R. Candidate will own test station development, test coverage and also assist in hardware debug and bring up on existing projects, including deep dives into ongoing issues of existing devices. Prior experience with USB interconnects highly desired (USB, Display Port, Thunderbolt, HDMI, PCIe)

Key Qualifications

  • Strong EE fundamentals
  • Experience crafting PCIe end points. Knowledge of PCIe root complex and/or PCIe switch design.
  • Experience with bring-up, debug and validation of instrumentation HW
  • Strong working knowledge of best practices for PCB design, layout and construction
  • Knowledge of processor peripheral interfaces (PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, storage, high speed serial interfaces)
  • SOC’s, micro-controllers, microprocessors (ARM), FPGAs
  • Proficient working knowledge of Signal Integrity and Power Integrity
  • Hands on experience with test equipment including scopes, analyzers, and multi-meters
  • Software development experience for automation testing of/via high speed interconnects is a plus

Education & Experience

BS or MS in CS/EE or equivalent

Additional Requirements

  • -Minimum of 3 years of experience in the design and development of high-speed digital and/or analog boards and systems.
  • -Understanding of hardware concepts. (i.e. hw architectures, debug interfaces, etc.)
  • -Strong programming fundamentals (C, C++, Objective C) and scripting experience (Python, shell, etc)
  • -Understanding of test principles, statistical analysis, GRR
  • -Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to manage many priorities across multiple disciplines.
  • -Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment.
  • -20% travel required - domestic and international.
