Help shape the future of the Apple products in the Media & Entertainment industry. The Pro Workflow group is uniquely a part of the HW Engineering division. We are a diverse set of artists & creatives with skills spanning the landscape of audio engineering, photography, video production, real-time graphics, 3D animation, and visual effects. We are also a diverse set of computer system & performance architects with expertise across GPU, CPU, storage, networking and more. Together these groups work to build real content, analyze and tear it apart to find opportunities to make great new products as well as innovate new workflows for media & entertainment.

Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years system administration MacOS, Linux and Windows experience for workstations and compute farm
  • Scripting experience: shell scripting & python.
  • Experience managing TCP/IP networks.
  • Experiences providing customer support to non-technical and technical end-users across more than one physical site.
  • Good problem solving skills in complex and changing environments
  • Passion to learn new technology, hardware and software
  • Bonus qualificaitons --
  • Experience managing SAN in media production
  • Experience with virtualization, docker setup and administration
  • Administrating MacOS systems with JamF
  • Experience with package managers and building packages for deployment
  • Experience setting up & managing AWS, GCP, Heroku, or other cloud services

Description

As the system administrator in the Pro workflow team you’ll be working with a team of creatives and system architects as we build out video, audio, photography and 3D/VFX workflows. You will administrate a collection of end-user systems and compute/render farm. We frequently need to upgrade OS, App versions and hardware itself at a cadence that is distinctly different from other teams. The team you’ll support is located primarily in Culver City, CA and Portland, OR. You’ll need to travel occasionally to the other locations to help with new projects or new deployments. You’ll have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of software and hardware across Mac, iPad and iPhone.

Education & Experience

BS/BA or equivalent experience, 5+ years in system administration or equivalent roles.
