The Apple Home team is looking for dedicated, passionate In Region product Design Engineer based in China.
Key Qualifications
- Experience with acoustic & optical product mechanical design is a definite plus.
- Mechanical design using CAD 3D molding with NX.
- Simulation with FAE knowledge and tool.
- Tolerance analysis of high complexity and precision mechanical designs with excellent understanding of GD&T.
- Experience with various materials (research, selection, testing, process ability)
- Proven ability design for plastic, soft part and metal with relevant manufacturing process (injection, stamping, CNC…).
- With data process and analysis ability with statistic tools (Minitab, JMP…).
- Independent work under high pressure and tight schedule.
- Require up to 60% domestic and international travel to support product development.
Description
- Collaborate with US PD for product mechanical design intent, development, validation.
- Collaborate with cross function of ID, EE, functional team for product architecture, key component layout, ergonomics.
- Design product structure & select material to fulfil product requirement and spec.
- Define spec of dimension and performance for component and product, based on tolerance analysis, risk assessment and engineering validation.
- Define design requirement and collaborate with technical operation team for product assembly with correct process (fixture, equipment) to fulfil the requirement.
- Be able to review and study the metrology with quality team.
- Be able to manage and organize supplier and contract manufacturer to implement study and validation, and conduct statistics analysis to process data for judgement.
- Awareness of the engineering cost and be able to reduce design cost from technology standpoint.
- Thoughtfully conduct issue failure analysis and take corrective action to solve product and mechanical issue.
- Have strong leadership and ownership for mechanical design and issue resolution, till product end of life.
- Highly passionate in engineering study and collaboration with cross function team.
Education & Experience
- BS or MS plus degree in ME.
- 5+ year experience in product design and manufacturing engineering.
- Proficient in written and verbal English.
