PCB Fabrication Engineer
Hardware Engineering Services is dedicated to providing Apple Engineering the most up-to-date tools and analysis for the development of Printed Circuit Board technology. We are seeking a seasoned PCB Fabrication Engineer to collaborate with Apple PCB designers and electrical engineers to develop innovative PCB material stack-up solutions to meet physical and electrical requirements. You will also be responsible for verifying and analyzing circuit boards from all PCB types such as Rigid, Rigid-Flex, Flex, and SIP. You will work closely with PCB designers during the board verification process and provide expert feedback relating to existing guidelines and fabrication rules.
- Study PCB design trends and processes, and then evaluate and implement those processes that apply to Apple’s core technologies.
- Assist designers and electrical engineers developing complex material stack-ups using PCB Industry CAD models and 2D field solvers.
- Perform impedance calculations for edge coupled differential, single ended microstrip, single ended stripline/dual-stripline, and single ended/edge coupled coplanar model calculations.
- Provide design trade-offs for the engineering team during the stack-up development. Generate solid examples of cost effective and design specific models for the teams to review and analyze.
- Collaborate with Apple’s PCB vendors based on complex material requirements.
- Understand and apply Apple’s PCB specifications to all circuit board types such as Rigid, Rigid-Flex, Flex and SIP during the verification process.
- Complete PCB design verification using Industry CAD tools designed for PCB analysis. Produce analysis report defining items that fail existing Apple DFM guidelines or rules. Offer alternative suggestions which will meet the rules but still achieve original design intent.
- Respond to daily technical vendor DFM feedback to address issues post design release. Collaborate with Apple engineering teams to review and resolve technical issues.
