The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a Senior Graphics Software Engineer to help us push the limits of the next generation of interactive experiences on our platform. This team is working with some of Apple’s most advanced technologies including spatial computing, augmented reality (AR), ARKit and Metal 3, to create ground-breaking new products. As a member of our creative organization, you will have the uniquely rewarding opportunity to craft future products that will delight and inspire millions of people every single day.
Apple makes the newest technologies accessible to create amazing user experiences. You will have the opportunity to work in a team developing system level frameworks enabling these experiences, in close collaboration with creative teams across Apple and VPG. The candidate for this role will be comfortable working in a dynamic and creative environment. Engineers are expected to work quickly and smartly to help determine the viability of ideas and technologies. You will need a keen understanding of GPUs and lower level programming and an ambition to improve, innovate and explore these technologies to enable creatives to surprise and delight our users.
  • At least 8+ years of relevant industry experience with the following:
  • Programming skills and knowledge of C++
  • Proficient in mathematics for 3D realtime applications (linear algebra)
  • Understanding of GPU hardware architecture and how that affects solutions
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Design and implementation of real-time 3D and/or spatial experiences
  • Experience delivering high quality software to end users
  • BS/MS in Computer Science OR equivalent degree OR equivalent experience
  • Apple CPU/GPU architecture
  • Experience writing optimized code using e.g. profiling tools, assembly, SIMD, compute, etc
  • Proficient in at least one of the major modern graphics APIs (Metal, Vulkan, DirectX, Consoles, etc)
  • Familiarity with macOS and Unix
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
