The Cork Product Operations team is looking for a passionate, self motivated and hard working Quality leader to be part of a diverse, dynamic and high energy team. The work is in a highly collaborative and multi- functional environment with multiple deadlines, handling several projects at a time. The successful candidate will be an experienced Quality Manager who ideally has Mechanical, Electrical and Software Quality Assurance expertise and will be experienced in Quality management systems, Data analysis techniques and Software quality assurance methodologies. Reporting directly to the Senior EMEIA Quality Manager the role will be based out of Apple’s EMEIA headquarters in Cork and will require occasional travel.

Key Qualifications

  • Significant years of experience in a Managerial role within Quality engineering or similar, leading a team of technical stuff.
  • Consumer electronics experience preferred but not required, however if you have experience within medical, automotive, aerospace and other fields with relevant technology and development models you are encouraged to apply.
  • Proven Experience in implementing software Quality assurance methodologies.
  • Demonstrated leadership in the software quality assurance area for a major software program.
  • Relevant experience of managing suppliers building electrical modules such as displays, power supplies, PCBs.
  • High level of knowledge in Mechanical Engineering in particular focused on mechanical piece part assessment and subassembly integration. Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings / tolerance stack up and CAD designs and ability to assess the parts from specifications.
  • Knowledge of the following processes: PCB, metal and plastic manufacturing techniques and their associated process controls e.g Six Sigma; CPK and GR&R.
  • Knowledge and Use of statistical tools techniques such as Minitab or JMP.
  • Proven track record to understand all aspects of Quality and to be able to lead and influence Operations and Suppliers.
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to investigate and solve difficult problems.
  • Flexibility and adaptability while working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience of Product Reliability testing would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity of Hardware Failure analysis Techniques would be a plus.

Description

You will use your management and technical expertise to lead a team on a range of Quality and Engineering opportunities. Being comfortable in a rapidly evolving and dynamic environment coupled with excellent communication skills are essential to the role. You will foster and build an excellent communication and working relationship with our global Apple partners. - Define and implement Apple Quality strategy for EMEA Product operations. - Develop excellent links with the Quality, Engineering and Operations teams globally. - Define and Implement software Quality assurance processes for our in house developed software solutions (both for our Shop floor system software and for Apple Product Test & Diagnostic bundles). - Drive continuous Quality improvement plans across our organisation. - Establish a system of metrics to continually drive and supervise measurable quality. - Drive the use of statistical analysis for key Quality data across the team. - Collaborate with Engineering to ensure CTQ (Critical to Quality) parameters are agreed and documented for new product activity. - Drive Quality input to design for manufacturing activities. - Stay ahead of the latest Quality management methodologies and developments and implement where possible. - Collaborate with multi-functional peers on key business initiatives. Actively participate in these discussions in a transparent manner and bring data and value to these initiatives based on data and knowledge from your team. - Ensure the team operates within Financial budget. - Influence Quality strategy at a global level.

Education & Experience

BE, BS or MS in Engineering required Quality qualification would be an advantage.
