Manufacturing Network Team is a unique security engineering group within Apple IS&T. We provide critical network services for the company across every product line. From manufacturing to customer facing, our services span across the entire lifecycle of most Apple hardware. We are responsible to design, implement and support the ongoing need to improve customer safety and privacy by providing security services that are tightly coupled with hardware.
The Senior Network Reliability Engineer is a highly technical, hands-on role in a dynamic and fast paced environment. The candidate will need to have multidisciplinary expertise in networking, security and DevOps domains and will be responsible for designing, supporting and securing critical networks deployed in global locations.
Description
This position is open to be based in Shanghai or Shenzhen.
This role holds full responsibilities and ownership of engineering critical network infrastructure operating in a diversified and highly secured environment. The existing scope of the work includes the following and will be extended with emerging new technology and new business initiatives.
* Adopt infrastructure as code to define, build and operate network infrastructure.
* Design and build service-objective aligned new network infrastructure including engineering specifications, solution selections, resource tuning and optimization.
* Measure, monitor and automate reliability of network infrastructure with engineering approach.
* Automate, troubleshoot and optimize existing LAN/WAN infrastructure in multiple global locations.
* Document network infrastructure and design.
* On-call support duty.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical BS/MS degree with more than 8 years in designing, deploying and maintaining critical network infrastructure in an SRE/DevOps environment.
- Expert level troubleshooting skills of complex LAN/WAN issues and proficient in packet analysis using tools such as Wireshark.
- Experience with popular Devops tools such as Git, Ansible, Shell, Python, and Golang.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese and comfortable to work in a diversified cultural, language and time zone environment.
- Willing and able to travel.
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MPLS networks and products including traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN, and VRF.
- In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of managing network infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Hands on experience of implementing network automation techniques.
- Experience and understanding of virtual and software-defined network (SDN).
- Experience with RESTful API as well as API design to call and offer services.
- Strong team player with high degree of flexibility.
- Experience with Cloud Native skills such as Docker Docker-Compose, have develop and deploy abilities with above tools and languages for CI/CD
- Experience with data-driven web development, including strong knowledge of HTML5, DHTML and CSS3, JSON/XML.
- Experience with Typescript, CSS (Sass), build tools like web pack, test frameworks like Jest
- Knowledge of Machine Learning skills and common algorithms for Classification and Regression as well as corresponding measures.
- Experience with data visualization technologies is a plus
- Experience in full time developer role is a plus.
