Research Tooling Engineer
The Security Engineering and Architecture (SEAR) organization at Apple is forming a new team and we’re looking for smart motivated engineers to join us. We will be utilizing deep hardware and OS integration, this team will be passionate about the practical application of Apple’s groundbreaking security research.
You will help Apple build sophisticated tools and features that help protect users from sophisticated threats. You will design and implement innovative approaches to detect and analyze vulnerabilities, malware and exploits targeting Apple platforms. You will need to build new and innovative approaches to protect vulnerable users while protecting their privacy and preserving device ease-of-use. You will work cooperatively with other parts of Apple on large projects which bridge the gap between groundbreaking security research and Apple’s software engineering organization.
- Understanding of past, current, and emerging security exploits.
- Excellent C and systems programming skills.
- Strong understanding of operating systems internals. Industry exposure to and knowledge of OS security features.
- Ability to deliver proven work on tight schedules. Working cross-functionally with other software, hardware, red teams, malware analysts and support teams to provide the best security solutions for Apple’s products.
- Kernel and systems programming
- Hypervisor design and architecture
- Involvement in open source technologies and development communities such as FreeBSD and Linux
- iOS and macOS exposure (end user, administrator, developer)
