The Instrumentation System Engineering Group plays a key role in keeping up quality standards, and through work with the team, youʼll have the unique opportunity to impact products all across Apple. We are looking for an engineer who will be responsible for the design and development of state-of-the- art metrology equipment used to calibrate and test Appleʼs groundbreaking technology and products. You will work collaboratively with a creative and diverse team of experienced engineers throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase to ensure the success of current and future Apple products.

Key Qualifications

  • Experience programming in one or more of the following: Lua/Python/Matlab/C/C++
  • Experience analyzing and processing large data. ML-based data analysis is a big plus!
  • Strong applied mathematical skills (algorithm, modeling, simulation)
  • Professional experience designing, debugging, and working with electromechanical system
  • Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) and control systems

Description

You will be responsible for the specification, validation and deployment of automated equipment to test and calibrate Apple’s amazing products. Responsibilities will be tuned to match candidate’s technical background, but you may be expected to: - Architect hardware for systems to test and calibrate product sensors - Maintain, optimize, and debug software - Analyze large amounts of data and adopt data-driven approaches to solve engineering challenges - Perform failure mode root cause analysis, resolution, and debugging - Specify and validate the required mechanical design & automation systems - Drive system bring-up and qualification at vendors and contract manufacturers(expected 10% travel) - Make decisions to balance product quality and operation efficiency

Education & Experience

- MS/PhD in Engineering or related disciplines - 1+ years of professional experience or equivalent (3+ preferred)
