We’re looking for a motivated, diligent Network Engineer to join our IS&T Infrastructure Services team in Tokyo. This team supports both internal Apple business operations and external customer-facing services. You’ll be a key player in designing, deploying, and supporting Apple’s network infrastructure across Japan and Korea, with potential involvement in regional and global initiatives.

- Plan, deploy, and support Apple’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, Data Center, Internet Gateway, Wireless, Security, and Remote Access solutions.
- Perform installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, wireless access points, and firewalls.
- Support Network DevOps and Network Automation initiatives.
- Participate in design reviews, documentation, and continuous optimization of network environments.
- Collaborate across global teams, adapting to language, cultural, and time zone differences in a fast-paced, leading-edge technology environment.
- Contribute to regional and global infrastructure projects, supporting scalable and secure network services.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience of deploying and supporting routers, switches, wireless access points and firewalls (racking, cabling, configuring, operating, monitoring and troubleshooting)
- Understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6 Addressing/subnetting, Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing Protocols.
- Proficient in scripting (Shell, Perl, Python).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable in a multilingual, multicultural team environment.
- English proficiency (Eiken Level 2 or equivalent or higher).
- Japanese proficiency (JLPT N2 or equivalent or higher).
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Network knowledge equivalent to Cisco CCNP or similar certifications.
- Familiarity with security technologies: ACLs, NAT, stateful firewalls, IPSec/SSL VPNs.
- Experience with automation and configuration tools such as Ansible, Git, Salt, Chef, Puppet, Splunk, or CI/CD pipelines.
- Interest or experience with: Go, Terraform, C/C++, Jenkins.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and navigate ambiguity.
- Experience in project coordination or project management is a plus.
