The Data Services team is seeking an accomplished Database Engineer who will be responsible for crafting database architecture and design solutions to maintain extensive database infrastructure supporting critical IS&T environment. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in database design, adept troubleshooting skills, and a talent for root cause analysis. Moreover, you should have a wealth of experience with database replication tools and be adept at managing high availability setups.

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with distributed relational databases such as CockroachDB and relational datastore like Oracle
  • Proficiency in Python, Perl, and Shell scripting is a must, coupled with a proven track record of seamlessly migrating mission-critical applications to cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, DevOps practices, and infrastructure automation is essential for success in this role.
  • Proficient in datastore administration tasks such as backup and recovery, replication, clustering, and high availability configurations.
  • Implement infrastructure automation and scripting using tools like GitHub, CloudFormation, Shell, Go, Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and techniques for proactive performance management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to fix complex database issues and propose effective solutions.

Description

In this role, your responsibilities will span various RDBMS technologies, as you oversee dynamic, distributed database environments crucial for supporting OLTP systems. Collaboration will be key, as you work closely with a diverse, multi-functional team, both locally and remotely, to design, develop, and support the advancement of our next-generation products and processes.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
